Introduction to Plotbank - We Are Registered!

The team at Plotbank is delighted to announce that we have completed our registration as a charity with the Charities Commission! After a detailed and thorough application process, Plotbank was officially recognised as a charity on 21/09/2021.

Plotbank is a new charity that aims to reduce the negative financial and emotional impact of funeral poverty while enhancing biodiversity and sustainability. Our mission is to combat funeral poverty in England. We believe that it's everyone's right to have a peaceful final resting place regardless of their financial or social status.

Public health funerals, previously known ominously as 'Pauper's Funerals', increased by 70% between 2015-18 alone. The devastating impact of austerity and the Covid-19 pandemic is predicted to increase significantly the number of people forced to turn to public health funerals in the coming years!

While we are just starting, we envision an England where no one is forced into financial difficulty to be laid to rest.
